Julio Arosemena is a Civil Engineer, graduated from Texas A&M University and Project Manager at Proyectos Mar Azul. Julio tells us that part of his personal and professional development entailed a rigorous 4-year military training, “To date, I have 15 years of experience in the branch of construction project management in the marine, residential, commercial, transportation, and industrial fields.”
How is Julio Arosemena outside the workplace? He tells us: “In my personal time, I am dedicated to improving my techniques in sports such as tennis, golf and squash. In addition, I am a fan of the art of cinematography and I love traveling and getting to know different places and cultures.” He also shares with us that he is passionate about technology and tries to keep up with all the technological innovations to achieve a more automated and enjoyable life.
About Mar Azul
In the last three years, Julio has been part of the Mar Azul project management team, which comments to us: “It has helped me optimize my management skills and I have been proud to carry out important projects, such as the construction of the new Liberty Latin America office, unique in its category and managing an iconic project on the islands, such as Bocas Bali.”
In the workplace, what has it been like to be part of this prestigious team?
“At Mar Azul, every day is an achievement and in each project I learn from my mistakes and adapt the management to be able to implement new processes or improve existing ones so its management is more automated and practical, to obtain a closer relationship with the clients, and to be able to achieve the necessary goals.”
Experiences
Within his 15 years of experience in the construction sector, he tells us about an important challenge; one of his greatest achievements in the workplace: “having managed a project with the government, which entailed abrupt risks on all sides and with all fronts pointing to my head, I was able to plan and manage the day-to-day management and to direct this megaproject into a profitable and organized business from a zero stage and without the support of any superior or the company where I worked.”
He tells us that this challenge, without a doubt, represented a milestone in his experience, as well as many lessons that he has been able to contribute in his subsequent projects and in his career in Mar Azul.
What advice do you share with us?
For Julio, everyone who works in the construction sector faces complicated situations every day, but “like everything in life, you always have the easy and the difficult, but you always learn from both.”
