As for many organizations, the search for competent human capital is a challenge and having a cohesive team committed to the company is even more complex. For these reasons, today we want to tackle such important managerial work.
For Mar Azul, its collaborators are its most valuable capital and, from our beginnings, one of our objectives and challenges as an organization has been to lead at the speed of trust and to work based on results. Proof of this confidence is that, in January 2021, the company completed eleven years of operation with personnel with the same number of years of seniority.
At Mar Azul, being a company that executes different projects simultaneously, we work with teams whose members are variable since they are formed according to the needs of our clients. Due to this particular circumstance, within our recruitment management, we recognize the importance of really knowing our future staff and, for this, we apply different tests to the candidates, depending on the position to be recruited; among them, intelligence tests, personality tests, and aptitudes and abilities.
The results of these types of tests allow us to identify high-potential and high-performance candidates with different personalities, which also helps us to place each collaborator in the most compatible team.
It is of the utmost importance for Mar Azul that its work teams for each project are compatible and complementary, so that the aptitudes and skills of each professional are amplified and strengthened for the benefit of the project.
Evaluations are valuable, mainly under the premise that “what is not measured cannot be improved”. By periodically evaluating our collaborators, we seek to maintain their optimal levels of performance, so that they can execute their tasks, fulfill their functions and achieve the expected objectives in the appropriate time.
In order to improve productivity and teamwork, our next challenge is to apply the Team Building System, which encompasses a wide variety of participatory and structured activities, such as sports and skill activities. Currently, for biosafety issues, we have implemented biweekly meetings with the entire organization, to improve the performance of work teams and the ability to work together effectively.
These evaluations allow us to measure results and draw conclusions that help us to focus on those areas with opportunity for improvement, according to the specific lines of the business and the strategic objectives of our organization. In the same way, they contribute to unify more collaborative and complementary teams, committed to obtaining better results.
An added value that these evaluations provide us, when communicating the results to employees, is to ensure that they have in their hands tools for their self-development, as professionals and, above all, as human beings. It expands us to the understanding that we all think and act differently in the same situations, and that develops empathy and fellowship.
For us, having a committed human capital that trusts their company is an achievement that has been forged over the years with transparent management, established and clear objectives, measurement focused on continuous improvement and with a horizontal organization chart that inspires us all to have the same goal, to walk towards the vision fulfilling our mission, every day, as a single team: Mar Azul Project Management.
