Let’s learn a little more about Teresa Perez, who is the Architecture Coordinator at Proyectos Mar Azul and one of the people with the longest time in the company. Teresa tells us about her studies: she graduated in Architecture from the University of Panama and, even as a student, she gained work experience; first in an Art Gallery and then in a design company, and it was after this, when she entered Proyectos Mar Azul, where this year she celebrated twelve years of service with us.
Outside of her working life, Teresa defines herself as a peaceful, responsible, and creative person. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and her children. Also, she likes art. She also tells us that she really enjoys drawing and painting, and confesses that she is fascinated with astronomy and quantum physics. Due to her long career in Mar Azul, we asked her to share a detail of her personal life that we do not know already and she told us that she is also dedicated to managing social networks.
About Mar Azul
What Teresa is most passionate about in her job is being able to solve complications and see a satisfactory result. We asked her, what has been her greatest learning within her career at PMA? “At Mar Azul I have grown professionally in various ways; I wouldn’t finish if I started listing everything I’ve learned.” For all her years of experience, we asked her to share with us how she considers that the use of technology in the sector generates benefits compared to traditional methods; “Technology helps the design area because it allows for greater precision and this, with the right knowledge, translates into a work with fewer unforeseen events. In addition, it greatly facilitates communication between all the parties involved in a project”.
Experiences
With all these years working with Mar Azul, Teresa has many good memories and experiences. She tells us about a very special moment for her, “the inauguration of the Marina in Buenaventura (which I highlight, is the only marina on Panamanian soil), after being involved from the beginning, seeing it finished, such a special project and knowing that I was part of the process, without a doubt it was something special.”
A valuable tip that you always remember? “Something I read and loved: Happiness is not in the station you want to reach, but in the way you travel; it is not in the result, it is in the process. I always keep it in mind.”
And she gives us her five important keys to achieve goals:
→ Have discipline;
→ Be an honest person;
→ Remember that to have different results you have to do things differently;
→ If you are passionate about what you do, it will be better; and
→ Try to be responsible at all times.
